    Help & Information

    Timecode Formats

The calculator supports two common timecode formats:

    • HH:MM:SS:FF - Hours:Minutes:Seconds:Frames (e.g., 01:23:45:12)
    • HH:MM:SS.MS - Hours:Minutes:Seconds.Milliseconds (e.g., 01:23:45.500)

    Calculator Functions

    • Add - Adds two timecodes together
    • Subtract - Subtracts the second timecode from the first
    • Duration - Calculates the time difference between two timecodes
    • Convert - Translates between timecode formats, frames, and seconds
    • Offset - Applies a positive or negative offset to a timecode
    • FPS Conversion - Converts timecodes between different frame rates

    Tips

    • Use the framerate buttons to set the current working framerate
    • When entering timecode, you can use period (.) or comma (,) for milliseconds
    • For frames to timecode conversion, simply enter the frame number
    • For seconds to timecode, enter the number of seconds (can include decimals)
    • History is saved in your browser between sessions

The Timecode Calculator is a professional tool for video editors, offering precise timecode calculations. Add, subtract, or find durations between timecodes, convert between frames, seconds, and timecode formats (HH:MM:SS:FF or HH:MM:SS.MS), apply offsets, and adjust for framerates (24–60 fps or custom). it streamlines editing tasks, ensuring accuracy for film, TV, or multimedia projects, enhancing workflow efficiency.

    How to Use Timecode Calculator

Master timecode calculations with these steps:

    • Set Framerate: Choose 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 50, 60 fps, or enter a custom FPS (e.g., 23.976).
    • Select Format: Toggle between HH:MM:SS:FF (frames) or HH:MM:SS.MS (milliseconds).
    • Basic Calculations:
      • Enter two timecodes (e.g., 01:23:45:12, 02:34:56:23).
      • Choose Add, Subtract, or Duration, then click “Calculate” to see results.
    • Conversion Tools:
      • Input a timecode, frames, or seconds, select conversion type (e.g., Timecode to Frames), and click “Convert”.
    • Timecode Offset: Enter a source timecode and offset value, choose Add/Subtract, and click “Apply Offset”.
    • Framerate Conversion: Input a timecode, select source/target FPS (e.g., 24 to 25), and click “Convert FPS”.
    • View History: Review past calculations, copy results, or clear history.
